Judge Not lest ye be Judged

I have often wondered about the root causes of my anxiety. It is, of course, a very personal thing; it is difficult to explain to anyone why you feel worried or agitated. A Love Letter to Anxiety

Dear Anxiety, Should I name you something? Maybe it would make you a little less intimidating and a little more human. Why I Don't Write Every Day

I am a writer. I do not write every day. I am not suffering from writer's block. I have plenty of ideas written down to write new articles. I write when the time allows me to do so. Diary of the Guinea Pigs: The Final Days

<< Day Twelve So the last day was actually this past Sunday, which ended at noon. The Saturday excessive eating was brutal. Like, disgusting. Mostly dinner was the worst. All-in-all the calorie count was over 3800. This for a body with a RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) of just over 2400 calories. So, the excess alone was just a little less than the amount of calories we eat in a day normally. It still is unclear why they end the study that way. It seems cruel. I'm Turning Into A Dragon

There is a ball of fire currently residing in my digestive system. Now, some people might think that this is indigestion; my sister favors acid reflux disease herself. She diagnoses everyone with this; and once she was actually right, and her friend actually did have acid reflux. She takes this as confirmation of her diagnosing skills, but to quote a saying that tickles my funny bone, "Even a broken clock is right twice a day." My problems stem from stress; I've been under plenty lately. And all this bur... read more »

Bad News, Cashier-Brain, and Books (Yay! Books!!!)

Currently, I'm on vacation, or staycation, because we are just staying home in our apartment, with no travel plans, nor any other plans, come to think of it. The only hard and fast plan that I did have was to go see Divergent, and to spend the night at my sister's and watch some scary movies, and I've done both (I loved Divergent!). So I have a line of empty days ahead of me and my daughter, who is on spring break. And that's a good thing, because I was seriously suffering from a strong case of cashier-b... read more »

Stress Free Life

Stress depends on your interpretation of an event you experience, and not the event itself. Two people can experience the exact same thing, but feel differently about the situation at hand. For instance, one person may brush it off without allowing it to impact their life, while on the hand, it can collapse another person’s world. This makes a difference in the way each of these two people lead their life. It merely depends on your experience to the event and the emotions in which you endure. Simply ask:... read more »

Flytting & Stress

Eg hadde egentlig andre planer for tida framover, men ... read more »

A Deeper Look Into Intention: Effects of Negati...

Once we come to an understanding of the power of positive thought and intention, we also begin to ponder the effects of negative thought, which are quite profound to say the very least. Working Well Under Pressure

Melissa at NaBloPoMo on BlogHer asks, "DO YOU WORK WELL UNDER PRESSURE?" Well, yes and no. I think some pressure helps, what they call in psychology, 'eustress'. For example, I have acted in quite a number of stage plays. There is a certain amount of stress encountered on opening night. After all, it is the culmination of six to eight weeks of work. Most actors have a 'day job' as well, or go to school - in other words, a life full of obligations. You want the audience to enjoy the play. You want to r... read more »
