Greetings and welcome!♥We all have demons within us that we have to learn how to minimise them and put them in proper perspective so they aren't a detriment to our being, our character. We can't, however, deal with themif we refuse to first acknowledge their existence. Humans tend to put off dealing with anything that's unpleasant and so, think if unpleasantnessis ignored, it will somehow magically work itself out but nothing ever gets resolved by ignoring it, whatever it may be.♥ PNG url:https://1.bp.b... read more »

Greetings and welcome!♥Very few humans don't desire to have in their life that one person to share life with. But fear has tremendous power and our hearts are our most precious and vulnerable part, which we guard and protect above all else. There are a number of aspects with fear involving one's heart: fear of rejection, fear of one's heart being used and abused, fear of ridicule and rejection from family, friends, and peers are likely the most prevalent. Fear traps a person into a "safe zone", believing... read more »

Hustle Along, Little Crab. Don’t Fear the Sea G...

Today we’re going to talk again about Brian the Hermit Crab, because some people misunderstood his role as Exhibit A in last week’s message about worrying. I received the following comments: “All I see is a cat.” “He may be happy, but the reality is still a dangerous situation. Maybe he should be worried.” And [] read more »

If Worry Isn’t a Gift, Why Can’t We Let it Go?

This morning, while preparing to write an encouraging note for my friend Aimee, who is worried about undergoing a scheduled surgery today, I hit the synonym button to find a nicer word for “worry,” because it sounded so negative. My replacement options are: anxiety, perturbation, distress, unease, fretfulness, agitation, tension, and stress. Folks, this is [] read more »

Halloween Is The Time For Scary Pranks

Today is the fifth day in the writing challenge. I am writing every day this month something that pertains to Halloween. I choose to write about Halloween pranks. Have you pulled a Halloween prank on someone? My sister and some friends pulled a prank a girl we went to school with for Halloween. She got herself in to some trouble. It was bad trouble. She knew she was going to receive jail if not prison time for it. She had not been in trouble with the law before this happened. We knew a guy who was o... read more »

My Dog Has Aquaphobia

I have been slowly teaching my smaller dog, Rascal to walk on a leash. He is tiny at 5.6 lbs. He gets carried everywhere he goes. There are times he wants to get down to explore. This is why I have been teaching him to walk on a leash. Earlier today I took him with me when I left with my boyfriend. We stopped out at the local reservoir looking for Pokemon playing the app 'Pokemon Go.' We also stopped to eat the lunch we had picked up. Rascal kept poking his head out the car window as we were eating. ... read more »

Where Friendship Goes Wrong: A True Story: Wait...

"Tell me more" Anna says as she glances past her friends, not really paying attention. She had her eyes on all the boys that had been trying to make her life hell. She was trying to read them to figure out their next move. Ashton snaps his fingers in front of her face to get attention. Anna snaps out of it and says "wait what, what'd I miss?" She looks down and her arm had blood all over it. Anna had a rubber band on her arm that she started snapping when she was nervous. Aston looks at her and says "jus... read more »

Your Heart Knows What You Want. Your Head Knows...

I saw this recently and it stuck with me as it speaks to the tendency many of us have to over-analyze and over-think our goals, to over-research methods of achieving them, to procrastinate on ACTUALLY DOING ANYTHING. Sure, it helps Continue reading read more »

Depression (A Poem)

I want to go outside But I think I'll just lay here. Sometimes the simplest Things are the hardest to do. I'll lay here alone with my thoughts, of how things used to be. Or how they could be. Everyone tells me I'm strong. But if I am as strong as they think I am, I wouldn't be here. Alone. Maybe I'll go outside tomorrow. Until then I will be here remembering the friends and the life I once had. ©Amanda Catherine I can't hide from you guys. This is how I feel daily. I hope... read more »

Anna and Ashton walk home in complete silence. She isn't sure if this is a good or bad sign. It's a lot for one person to find out all in one night. As Anna reluctantly opens up her mouth to say something he also starts to say something. Not wanting to be rude and pushy Anna lets him finish talking. He says that he doesn't know if he is the right person for her with all of her drama. To be honest Anna knew that this was coming, this is why she was to afraid to say anything. They both stop to cross the st... read more »

Storms May be Brewing, but the Sun Ain’t Goin’ ...

Today is a dismal, bleak, rainy day here in Virginia. Can Halloween Hurt?

Today many will pay homage to the “god” of disappointment and discouragement. Yes, I am talking about today, the day of Halloween. So, what do I mean by that? Well, first of all let me congratulate you for finding this page. What are you afraid of ?

I have lived my life in fear. I think I am the most scared person on this planet. Paralysed with terror, I dread the outcomes of that, which is not to be. The easy way out is to blame my genes, my conditioning, for drilling into me that security is the most important facet of life. So I tell myself, as I plot and plan, and come up with counter plans, the fail-safe plans. Perhaps, these even work to some extent, for they brought me to where I am now. Yet... read more »
