Day Two of the Sharonville Catch-Up

content discovered on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in

For the next couple of weeks I'll be posting photographs from this year's fantastic show in Sharonville that I didn't have room for the first go round. Today's group includes a few Chevy Camaros, a couple Trans-Ams, a Dodge Dart, a Plymouth Belvedere II.

Last Post of 2017

content discovered on Friday, December 29, 2017 in

Today is not only my last post from this year's Pumpkin Run Nationals (for now) it is also my last post of the year. This was a great year in shows around the region and I feel lucky to have taken part in so many. There's no better way to wrap up the year than with one final collection from the 41st Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals. What could be better than a 1929 Ford, a '40 Ford Convertible, a 1924 International Model 43 hauler, a couple of pre-war beauties, a racer and a couple of customs. Happy New Year...

Fords At the Pumpking Run Nationals

content discovered on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in

The Fantastiques Rod and Custom Car Club do a fantastic (if you'll pardon the pun) job or running the Pumpkin Run Nationals each year. This year over 2600 cars rolled into the Clermont County Fair Grounds, many of them heading to the For area. Included in this group was a beautiful early station wagon, a nice looking customized Model T, a chopped post-war V 8, an early Ford van, a 1930 Ford convertible, an actual retired 1962 police cruiser, a Victoria sedan, a customized coupe, and one of the first Ford...

Chevy At the Pumpkin Run Nationals

content discovered on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in

Each year at the Pumpkin Run Nationals there are a huge number of Chevy cars and trucks that are parked in Bowtie Country. This year was no different. There were plenty of Novas and Chevelles, some Impalas and Malibus, a 1937 coupe, and a Corvair among others.

Another Week At the Pumpkin Run Nationals

content discovered on Monday, December 25, 2017 in

I'm back for another week of posts from the Pumpkin Run Nationals. This will close out this calendar year. Among the more than 2600 cars from 1974 or before that were on display there were so many great examples of every make, model, and style. They ranged from pre-war Chevrolets and Fords to rat rods to mint Studebakers to some customs and everything in between.

Caddys At the Pumpkin Run Nationals

content discovered on Friday, December 22, 2017 in

One of the great joys of every Pumpkin Run Nationals is the number of beautiful old Cadillacs that are on display. To close out the week here are some of those fantastic machines, including one of those iconic pink numbers.

More Bel Airs At the Pumpkin Run Nationals

content discovered on Thursday, December 21, 2017 in

Yesterday I posted a small collection of the many Chevy Bel Airs that were on display at this year's Pumpkin Run Nationals. With so many I couldn't just limit myself to one day. Here are some more of those iconic cars.

Bel Airs At the Pumpkin Run

content discovered on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in

Just about every open car show in the country is going to feature those iconic Tri-5 Chevy Bel Airs. Well there were Bel Airs before and after those and a lot of that Chevy model was on hands as part of this year's Pumpkin Run Nationals. Today and tomorrow are for the Bel Air fans.

American Motors At the Pumpkin Run

content discovered on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in

The Pumpkin Run Nationals, despite how imposingly large it is with over 2600 cars this year, is amazingly well organized. Many manufacturers are set off in their own areas (especially the Big Three) which allows for people to check out their favorites. American Motors, in my opinion, is always one of the overlooked gems at any show. Here are a few of the many AMC beauties that were on display. They included plenty of Ramblers including a Rebel wagon, a couple Ambassadors, a couple of AMXs, and even a Mat...

The Pumpkin Run Nationals

content discovered on Monday, December 18, 2017 in

The Pumpkin Run Nationals is one of the largest gatherings of collector cars not only in the region but in the country. Traditionally over 2500 cars show up at the Clermont County Fairgrounds each year to celebrate everything about this hobby. While I didn't get an exact final figure the last number of registered cars that I heard was in excess of 2600. Not a bad turnout. Included in the numerous cars that were on display was this absolutely beautiful Packard. Also on display was a 1956 Studebaker proje...

More Great Cars In Reading

content discovered on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in

Reading is a town of just over 10,000 people that was founded in the late 1700s. It came to prominence as a small railroad town leading into Cincinnati and it just so happens that Reading was the birthplace of my stepmother. The Show N Tell Car Show held in Reading brought out some very fine automobiles for this year's edition including a second generation Thunderbird convertible (my step mom owned a first generation T Bird when she was young), a 1959 Chevy Impala, a slightly newer Impala, a Ford 5-15 ca...

A Beautiful Day For a Car Show

content discovered on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in

The Annual Show N Tell Car Show in Reading had some of the most magnificent late summer weather you could imagine. And that brought out a host of great rides such as a 1981 Jeep CJ Alpha, a 1969 Chevy Camaro, a couple of pretty unique looking customs, a 1966 Ford Bronco, a Chevrolet Nova, a Chevy Biscayne, a Buick Riviera, and a Chevy pick up.

Show N Tell

content discovered on Monday, December 11, 2017 in

The Show N Tell Car Show held at the VYO Haffey Fieldhouse in Reading was a show I'd been hoping to get to for a long time but for whatever reason I always missed it. I'm sure glad I went this year. Well over 100 cars were on display including this sweet looking Lincoln, an MGA, a Ford T bucket street rod, a Ford Fairlane, a Chevy Camaro Super Sport, a gorgeous mid-50s Ford, a Mercedes 560 SL, a 1989 Camaro now in its second generation with the same family, and a 1969 Mercury Marauder.

But for now, enjoy some of the cars that were there that day including this second generation Thunderbird, an Oldsmobile 442 convertible, a Pontiac GTO convertible, a first generation Ford T-Bird convertible, a Chevy Corvette, a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible, a Dodge Prowler, and a C 3 Vette.

Good Causes On the Hill

content discovered on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in

The Ninth Annual Headin' For the Hill Classic Car Show supported some great causes. Proceeds went toward the Disabled American Vets and the North College Hill building fund. Perhaps that was part of the reason so many magnificent cars rolled out for this event. Among those on display was a classic Chevy Bel Air, a Chevrolet El Camino, a Porsche 928, a few Porsche 944s, a very new 911, late model Chevy Corvette, and an absolutely stunning 1912 Maxwell A.

MoPar At the Pumpkin Run Nationals

Some Great Variety On the Hill

content discovered on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in

The Ninth Annual Headin' For the Hill Car Show in North College Hill featured a wide variety of vehicles on display. Not only was there a little of everything for everybody but quite a few rides you didn't even know you wanted to see. A perfect example is this highly customized Chevy school bus. Just imagine riding to school on this baby. Also on display was a beautiful Ford V8, a late 1950s Chevy, a worn but classic Mercury, a Chevrolet El Camino, a 1957 Ford Fairlane convertible, a Mustang Cobra, a cus...

Lots of Cars Went Headin' For the Hill

content discovered on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in

The Ninth Annual Headin' For the Hill Classic Car Show brought around 150 beautiful machines to the streets of North College Hill. For as impressive a number as that is it was slightly off of last year's celebration which marked an historic anniversary for the city. Still, a ton and a half of cars is nothing to laugh at especially with such gems as this late model Chevy Camaro. Other cars lining the city's main drag included some sweet looking Corvettes, a 1963 Ford Falcon convertible, a 1959 Edsel, a ra...

Headin' For the Hill

content discovered on Monday, December 4, 2017 in

This was my second year of attending the Headin' For the Hill show in North College Hill. It takes place not far from where I grew up and prior to last year I hadn't even been aware it existed. Which is a shame because this is a very, very nice show. The city of NCH shuts down their main street and lines it with fabulous classic and collectible cars such as this Mustang Mach 1. Other great cars included a pre-war Ford, a couple of great looking Chevys, a classic Cadillac, a customized street rod, an Olds...

A Show to Finance a Film

The car show to benefit the production of the documentary film Norwood: Where Legends Were Born (https://www.norwoodlegends.com/) was a surprise success. Put together at the last minute by the filmmakers (full disclosure here, I'm friends with most of those guys) the show was a huge success. There were actually more cars in the lot than expected and there had to be some spillover. The show brought out a bunch of beautiful Camaros including the very first Camaro ever made. That's right, the car at the top...

Norwood Legends

Over the summer a special car show was held as a fundraiser to off-set the production costs of a documentary film about one of General Motors' once most well-known factories. The GM plant in Norwood, OH was, at one time, the place where most of the Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac Firebirds (and subsequently Trans Ams - learn the lineage) were built. The show brought out a lot of these fine cars but also a good selection of others who just wanted to take part, including this Bel Air wagon, a Trans Am, a GTO...

The 11th Annual City of Blue Ash and the Untouchables Classic Car Club Classic Car Show was once again held at one of the nicer locations for a car show in the area, Oakwood Park. In addition to it being mostly tree lined grass, the park offers a nice indoor area to let you cool off. The Untouchables also provide hot dogs and hamburgers for free (donations accepted but never asked for which I think makes people toss in that extra dollar or two, I know I did). They also play some of the coolest '60s and '...
